Whether it's a parking dent, a scraped bumper or accident damage, a good denting and painting job should be invisible once it's done. Here's what actually happens to your car in the body shop, how long it takes and what to check before you collect it.
1. Assessment and quote
We inspect the damage in daylight, check whether the panel can be repaired or should be replaced, and look for hidden damage behind it. You get a written quote before any work starts. For accident damage, the police report is required first.
2. Dent repair (denting)
The panel is pulled and shaped back to its original form. Small dents with intact paint can sometimes be pushed out without repainting. Larger or creased dents need panel work and filler.
3. Surface preparation
The area is sanded, any filler is shaped smooth, and primer is applied and sanded again. Good preparation is the difference between a repair you can't see and one that shows waves or edges.
4. Colour matching and painting
The colour is mixed from your car's paint code and checked against the car, because paint fades with sun exposure. The colour is often blended into neighbouring panels so the new paint matches perfectly, followed by clear coat.
5. Drying, polishing and quality check
After curing, the area is polished to match the surrounding gloss. We check the finish in different light, re-fit trims and clean the car before handover.
How long does it take?
- A single scratch or small dent: often 1 day.
- One panel, such as a bumper or door: usually 1 to 2 days.
- Several panels or accident damage: depends on parts and extent. We give you a timeline with the quote.
What to check when you collect your car
- Look at the repair from an angle in daylight. The colour and gloss should match.
- Check panel gaps and that trims, sensors and lights work.
- Ask what to avoid in the first days (for example, high-pressure car washes).
Frequently asked questions
Will the new paint match my car exactly?
When the colour is mixed from the paint code and blended into the surrounding panels, the repair should be invisible in normal light.
Can a bumper be repaired instead of replaced?
Often yes. Cracks, scuffs and broken mounting tabs can usually be repaired, which costs less than a new bumper. We'll advise honestly.
How much does car painting cost in Sharjah?
It depends on the size of the area, the damage and the paint type. Send photos on WhatsApp for an estimate.
